Daniel "silencio" Ramirez,
b. 2000
Daniel “silencio” Ramirez (He/They) is a first generation Salvadoran-American artist based in New Haven, Connecticut. He is currently pursuing a B.A. Studio Art with an Arts Administration and Cultural Advocacy minor at Southern Connecticut State University. Through drawing, painting, and printmaking, along with D.I.Y. self publishing through zines, they explore themes of memories and nostalgia through the lens of play, love, identity and more, both within the past and present day.
Initially the bassist for local CT band Toxic Holiday, they have played at multiple local venues throughout their highschool career while engaging in the grassroots music scene before switching to the visual arts. They actively search for ways to learn of the greater New Haven/CT arts scene through participation in internships, academic programs, and collaborative events with other local artists in hopes to create a stable environment for marginalized artists to prosper and inspire others
